Change fails when we work against the brain. Here is how we make it work.
"Why do so many small changes fail? It is rarely because of 'resistance.' It is usually because our brains are naturally wired to choose routine over change.
In my 20+ years delivering complex transformations, from global IT implementations to government reform, I noticed a pattern. We rely heavily on 'telling' people what to change, but we rarely support them in learning how to do it."
"My journey to Know-Learn-Grow to change didn’t come from a starling revelation. It came from observing how organisation’s made change while I was working on developing learning materials for the change.
I noticed that everyone wanted the learning to be a silver bullet at the end of the process that got everyone on board. The communications were sent out without realising each one of these could be a learning moment, not just a telling moment.
Information isn't application. Telling isn’t learning. I went on to complete a Masters in Adult Education in a Global Context, focusing on how adults actually learn and adapt.
I combine this academic rigor with practical change experience to help leaders move beyond 'communications' and toward true capability building."
